5th grade art work displayed at Pirate Contemporary Art Gallery in West 40 Arts District

Families are invited to come out to the Pirate Contemporary Art Gallery from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, November 1st for a celebration of Dia De Los Muertos. 5th grade students interviewed family members about an ancestor.  They created sculptures using Michelangelo's human proportions, including details to represent their ancestor.  They created paper marigolds, the flor de los muertos, to help the spirits of their ancestors find their way back to the world of the living for Dia De Los Muertos.
