Dia De Los Muertos

Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Friday November 1st, 2019, 6 to 10 PM

(show runs October 18th through November 3rd)

SLE 5th Graders' Art on Display at West40 Arts District

Pirate Contemporary Art Gallery has hosted a gathering of artistic celebration honoring Dia de los Muertos for 37 years, becoming an established metro-Denver tradition. Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a joyous occasion when the memory of ancestors and the continuity of life is celebrated.  It is considered a time of cheerful celebration rather than one of mourning.  This family-friendly event features Day of the Dead-inspired art and handmade altars plus Aztec dancers, piñatas, drinks, and more. There will a candlelight procession beginning at Pirate and meandering through 40 West Arts District to honor the dead.

The show will run from October 18th through November 3rd, 2019.

The celebration of Dia de los Muertos will be held on November 1st, 2019.

Evening Schedule:
6:00 pm - Aztec Dancers
7:00 pm - Kid's Piñata
7:30 pm - Procession followed by Fire Dancers
9:00 pm - Adult Piñata
